Malaysia
Hey everyone. I'm in Malaysia at the moment, sweating my arse off. Met up with Tara on my second day here and we went to Midvalley Megamall for a couple of hours. Megamall is HUGE, as you can probably guess from how its got 'mega' in the name. In Melbourne, you hardly ever see shopping centres above about 3 levels. In KL, there are some shopping centres that get up and over 6 levels. My dad didn't believe me when I said Sunway Pyramid was waaay bigger than Chadstone, but hell, I think one floor is already bigger than Chadstone. To be more precise, I'm in Bagan Serai visiting my grandma who just recovered from a lung infection. It's a country town supposedly surrounded by paddy fields (I've yet to see any actually) and there is absolutely nothing to do. Seriously. I spent most of my morning lying in my airconditioned bedroom staring at the ceiling. It doesn't help that next to nobody speak english so I'm kind of forced to speak chinese. My cousin's children are really cute and they all have their mother's triangle head. It's so adorable. I actually speak chinese to them though, because they're too young to laugh. I've actually been testing my speaking skills out on people and I haven't gotten as many weird looks as I expected so I must be getting somewhere? I can't wait till I can go back to KL and stay with Tara. It's nice being able to speak to people that don't answer back in Hokkien or Malay. We're going to Sunway and running around in teeny weeny bikinis (maybe just me)! I've been put off asian guys for life. They are everywhere here, and they're all really...unattractive. Well that's it from me. Not sure when i'll be able to get back on the internet, so see you guys later! Love, Mel

I know all about...
...dealing with difficult people. The worst kinds are the ones who are stubborn, angry and have loud voices. The kind that whenever you talk to them, you have to constantly gauge their mood, to make sure you aren't about to get ear bashed. The kind that accuse you of being 'calculative' when all you are doing is making a whole lot of sense they don't want to hear.
The thing about being related to difficult people is that they don't hold back on all the personal attacks. If you met a difficult stranger, they wouldn't make remarks on all your supposed 'personality flaws' (unless they were really deranged).
To deal with this irritating and often loud-mouthed people, don't [for chrissake whatever you do] raise your voice. They get pissed, real pissed. Just keep talking in that monotonous voice and you'll be fine. :)

Late night dreaming
Another bad dream last night. Ok it wasn't really scary, just weird. Here goes...
It was my birthday and invited all of my friends to dinner. We were mucking around waiting for the food to arrive when suddenly, everyone just left. So being the Asian that I am, I sat around by myself trying to eat all the food that had already been paid for. After awhile I gave up and decided to walk to Alvin's house to watch movies. When I got there, everyone was there playing poker and I wasn't invited! I was wandering around trying to play but well, I don't actually know how to play poker...
Then I woke up.
As far as dreams go, that one wasn't too bad. Must be something I ate...

This sucks
I had an operation to remove my wisdom teeth yesterday. It wasn't really quite as simple as just pulling them out because they were still in my gum with no sign of ever coming out. I'm just glad that for some reason, I only have 2 wisdom teeth so only my lower jaw was operated on.
Now my face is puffed up to the size of a giant watermelon and I can't eat properly. For the record, I'm really sick of rice porridge. Basically all I have done all day is watch tv. Right now I'm watching 'The Mystery Of Natalie Wood' and she just drowned. So sad :(
There was a hot nurse/intern yesterday. Pity I was so out of it. I have ice packs all over my head in an attempt to reduce swelling. It's not really working and tomorrow I have to go to work with a huge, puffy head, which I'm not really looking forward to.
Fun holidays huh?
