I think some people would recall that the family doctor indicated on my permission slips for excursions is Dr. Cindy Wong? Not to be confused with that other Dr. Cindy (Pang or something...I forget) from those PhysiCal Milk ads.
Anyway, my mum found an article in The Age about how her Box Hill Practise was closed down and her right to practise taken away from her. Apparently, she has given 475 sex workers a clean bill of health without even doing blood tests or taking any swabs. That is to say, clearing them of having any STD's so that they can earn their living. She "accepted cash payments of $30 in exchange for the certificates, and did not keep records other than a handwritten list with the mostly Chinese-speaking sex workers' names and dates".
For some reason, I find that freaking hilarious. Okay, it's not so funny for the guys that have a penchant for asian prostitutes and no protection.
