Creepy telemarketer

The phone rang so I picked it up, I could tell it was a telemarketer straight away so I told him my parents were out.

He asked, "why didn't you go out with your parents? Why are you at home alone?" I thought that maybe the person wasn't a telemarketer and I actually KNEW this person so I asked who it was.

He said, "my name is John, I TOLD you! Are you a student?" I told him I was. He kept asking me all these weird questions like "if you're a student why are you home alone?" "What are you doing by yourself?" and "do you watch any movies".

I totally over-reacted and fuh-reeeaked out. I told him I couldn't talk right now and hung up on him. Is it just me or are they getting scarier?
